Interior Design

Model Kate Moss has decided to step off the runway and into the interior design realm. The fashion icon is featured in the latest issue of Architectural Design, which explores her new venture at length. And so far, it seems to be a natural transition for the now 43-year-old Moss.

Interior Design Projects

The supermodel has had a long-rumored interest in interiors. Her latest project featured a total renovation of her London home. Moss started by tackling her master bathroom. Wallpaper company, de Gournay was chosen to create a soft-looking blue tint to surround the room. Moss says the look of her bathroom was inspired by mother nature – she wanted a sun and moon-type theme for her bathing area.

Her designs may also be aided by new boyfriend, Count Nikolai von Bismarck. After her recent divorce, things seem to be heating up quickly for the couple. Bismarck is credited with photographing Moss for the cover of the Architectural magazine. Could Bismarck’s influence be found in the hallway outside Moss’ bathroom as well? The walkway features some radiant splashes, reminiscent of a stunning rainbow.

Moss’ Career On The Runway

Moss was destined for stardom at a young age when she was discovered by a talent scout in New York City at just 14-years-old. Originally from Croydon, Surrey, Moss rose to fame on the runway in the early 1990s. But, her fame did not come without controversy. She is viewed as one of the figureheads of the polarizing “heroin chic” fashion trend that took off after the explosion of the Grunge Rock scene. With her extremely slender build, Moss was a natural fit in one of the nation’s most talked about fads. Most thought Moss was too skinny and was glorifying a drug epidemic that still exists. Despite the backlash, she remained one of the most popular international supermodels for decades to come. Today, Moss has an estimated net worth of $80 million.
